FIM Technology Workshop- Apply now!

 

FIM will be using Do Space’s facilities to teach designers new tools to enhance their skills and improve their fashion design processes. Such tools include using laser cutting technology and 3D printing.*

This class will focus on 3 key points:

1) laser cutting fabrics and leather to cut patterns more precisely 

2) using laser cutting on plastics to create jewelry and embellishments for garments

3) using 3D printing technology to create an altogether new material to use in place of fabrics

*3D materials will not be tested/shown as 3D printing take hours to complete; however, pictures will be shown

Objective is for participants to gain a better understanding of technology in general and provide insight to the resources available to them in Omaha.

Instructor: Frank Fu, designer who will be showing his latest collection in Omaha Fashion Week this August

Date & Time: Saturday, June 25 10 a.m.- 2 p.m.

Food will not be served so eat a full breakfast.

Participants are expected to arrive on time and stay for the entire duration of the workshop.
